Namaazi versus Jihadist
Aggression need not indicate as a sign of courage and passive subjugation may be a sign of cowardice. Sometimes a parent does an active servitude. This means, though there is strength of confrontation, yet they have a nobler objective. And that is to care for children. Beginning a conflict with weaker people is not a sign of courage. When you are stronger and your adversary is weaker, then, it is best to educate the adversary. Your maturity will show in your action upon an adversary. You do not need to use an axe to cut vegetables. This is where the Namaazi can differ from the jihadi.
Practice of prayers must bring maturity. It must bring competence to do intelligent discussion. Debates about theology need not become provocative. A true scholar of theology will articulate his own personal experiences. He is then able to invoke a debate within himself. The Namaazi practices Namaaz to seek spiritual values. Continuous practice of namaaz may evolve into a meditative practice. When practices become meditative then, Namaazi will experience harmony within himself.
Namaazi will relate to diversities and varieties of creation. His spiritual experiences will urge him to probe, various colors of living. Namaazi can become open to scrutinize, multiple domains and varieties of behaviors of people. Entertainment, song and dance, sport, romance, trade and economics, relationships, story-telling and many other expressions of living are respected. Namaazi moves through multicolored living with tranquility and peace.
Jihadi is evidently narrow focused. The unifocal jihadi is blind to many sentiments and emotions in other people. Jihadi is least sensible to spirituality.
This severe narrowing and rigidity of mind, brings frustration in jihadi. Frustration and anger makes him into a brutal and a ruthless person. This unrefined person then chooses to destroy other people. This mind that is like a volcano needs method to erupt. Evidently, jihadis who have taken up arms have had professional training on killing other people. The alphabet soup of jihadi brands are sprinkled all over the world. ISIS, Boko Haram, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, SIMI, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, Al Shabaab, Al-Nusra and Taliban are only a few names among thousand others. They have all their own interpretations of scriptures. Then, there is a common link, and that is, they must kill the non-conformist.
The Namaazi has to differentiate himself from the jihadi. Libya, Syria, Iraq and many other Middle Eastern countries has known the menace of jihadist operations. India, France, USA, UK and many countries have become victims of terrorism of jihadists. Namaazi should disallow anybody from graduating into a trainee of jihad.
The young jihadi finds no other avenue to display his heroism. These frustrated minds are easy targets for indoctrinations. In a debate of dominance of either justice or harmony, the jihadists are indoctrined. They get a very tweaked understanding of processes, procedures and other systems that delivers justice. Instead they are indoctrined to take directives and to kill the kaffirs. They are convinced by their colleagues and jihadi tutors, that act of violence will not only go unpunished but also be compensated after death. Jihadist is sure that his fatality is near, he will be killed in an operation. So he is already persuaded to murder maximum number of people before his death. They are taught the art of weaponry and strategy to inflict maximum pain on other communities. They are eager to demolish property and people with no show of mercy. How to confront the man whose need is only to die?
The jihadist take pride in claiming success of their operations that has maimed or murdered peaceful citizens. The irony is that all jihadists have subscribed to the membership of divinity. In effect they all have killed claiming to be at the behest of religious call.
Namaazi cannot afford to be indifferent and then stay away from this dialogue. Namaazi has to engage the potential jihadists into discussions. Namaazi has to invent the narrative that should neutralize hardliners. The ideology of jihadist can be deconstructed and neutralized only by a Namaazi, because Namaazi is equipped with intelligence used by the jihadist’s discourse. Humanity will come together. It is important that humanity comes together in support of civilization of people. Human values must care for each other. Utility of spirituality will end if it is used as a tool to inflict pain on other people. Religion must practice caution when they indoctrinate the turbulent minds. Philosophists must have the target to open up, minds of people to each other, through dialogue and discussions. Different faiths can investigate their spiritual quotient. The leaders, the learned and other scholars must create opportunity for followers. For the followers, discover new options of prayer and of faith. India is such a land of encouragement. People of India always allowed all faiths to enter, and then to flourish. Indian ethos traditionally never resisted any religious intrusions. Indian civilization is an inspiration for inclusive ethos and human values. Indian method always incorporated the need to share and care for all of human race. ‘Sarvesham sukhinav bhavantu’ is an evidence to goodwill to all of humanity. It is only in India that one can see the sense of ‘loka samasta sukhina bhavantu’. The revival of Indian civilization can bring, much needed relief in today’s times. These times, clash among people is spilling over to clash of civilizations and religions. India and its people are torch bearers of sacredness, sanctity and serenity.
Any analysis of track record of the Indian way will point to, care for people, animals, mountains, rivers and all of environment.
It is only natural that wise people subscribe to the way that Indians chose to live. The way, Hindus chose to do breathing techniques, stretches for the body and many meditations. It is our good fortune that we still have experts of yoga, pranayama, meditations and spiritual way of Indian civilization. It’s not surprising that many Namaazis also subscribes to the way of the meditators. But then there is a duty and that is to educate the potential jihadi that murder, brutality, beheading and other barbaric acts brings a bad name to the Middle Eastern civilization.
Earth is a good planet that we have to leave to the next generation. We have to decide whether we will leave it in a better way than when we found it. The good people will come together. The jihadists will be neutralized by people of peace, harmony, tranquility and serenity. The real courage is to defeat your craving for indulgences. The real strength is when you can walk away from your urge to capture and to dominate. The real power is when you can identify that you are subordinated. And correct action, is to neutralize a threat that is invading the culture of contentment and gratitude. The work that we need to do is to master the art to become happy. The duty that each of us has is to train ourselves that we may teach the art of happiness to more number of people.
The intelligent will know that, time has come. We need not allow any tyranny of jihadists, but instead, must draw spiritual strength and give proportionate push back. We are accountable to protect the weaker people and the environment. There are no innocent bystanders. Do not hesitate to do correct action.
If you do not act against jihadis now, then you are concurring with the violence. There is a duty to be a peace activist. Then inaction is evil. Your silence is not a virtue. Jihadist may be in a moral crisis. But Namaazi can uphold ethical value. By your passiveness and inaction you are part of the conspiracy. You can decide to contribute to humanity. Begin your protest so that you may work to end the massacres of the bystanders. The Namaazis can come together and let us pray together.
